Hearing Quiz

Many people experience hearing loss gradually, often due to the natural aging process or long exposure to loud noise. Hearing loss can also be a sign of more serious health problems. If you think you may have a hearing loss, take this 5 minute hearing test. At end, submit for "grading."

  15. 8. I misunderstand some words in a sentence and have to ask people to repeat.
  17. 9. I have more trouble understanding women and children.
  19. 10. I have been exposed to noisy environments (military, noisy workplace, loud concerts).
  21. 11. Many people seem to mumble, or not speak clearly.
  23. 12. People get annoyed because I misunderstand or ask for repetition.
  25. 13. I misunderstand what others are saying and/or make inappropriate responses.
  27. 14. I avoid social activities because I cannot hear well and fear I'll make improper replies.
  29. 15. Ask a family member or friend to answer this question: Do you think I have a hearing loss?
  31. 16. I have experienced sudden loss of hearing, or have ear drainage; or if you perceive that one ear hears better than the other. If this is recent event, contact a physician or ear doctor immediately.
